Institut für Energietechnik (IET)

The IET carries out a broad range of industrial and research projects for customers in the field of energy engineering. Thanks to the close cooperation with other university institutes and our extensive network of industrial partners the institute has access to infrastructure and know-how from a wide range of technical areas.

There are three types of projects which are open to industrial partners in cooperation with the IET:

  • Projects financed by the industry partner
  • Publicly funded projects
  • Semester, Bachelor and Master thesis

Publicly Funded Projects

The CTI - Commission for Technology and Innovation promotes cooperation between universities and companies in Switzerland. The project partners define the project parameters themselves. The partners can then use the expertise and the infrastructure of the HSR for their own research purposes. As a recognised research centre the IET is able to request the appropriate government funding and if available funding from other organizations through our vast network.

Semester, Bachelor and Master Thesis

Generally semester, bachelor and master theses are directly related to industrial problems or a current research project. The students use their abilities and knowledge acquired during their studies on a current practice oriented task. The projects take one semester and cover between 240 and 810 working hours.
